KUSA KITCHEN

FITMENT GUIDE

Vehicle Compatibility

*You are responsible for verifying whether or not the Kusa Kitchen is compatible with your specific vehicle.*

Kusa Kitchen is designed for fitment and compatibility with countless years, makes, models, and vehicle configurations. It can be installed in a van, a truck, an SUV, or a wagon.

Kusa is secured in your vehicle’s cargo area with ratchet straps or turn buckles that connect the vehicle’s factory tie down anchor points to each corner of the kitchen. The weight and balance of the Kusa Kitchen while its drawers and table top are extended is primarily supported by the cargo area anchor points closest to the front of your vehicle.

Vehicle Requirements

Your vehicle’s rear cargo area must meet the following criteria:

  1. No third row seating (unless your vehicle meets all other criteria with the 3rd row in place)

  2. No cargo shelves or cargo nets

  3. A flat, unobstructed cargo floor

  4. A rear cargo entry threshold (bottom lip of cargo area) that will accommodate the full width of the camp kitchen and the full articulation of drawers and slides.

  5. Meet the minimum required dimensions in length, depth, and height. The overall dimensions and access to your fridge or cooler must be accounted for.

  6. At least 4 factory installed cargo anchor points located outboard of the Kusa at each corner

  7. A rear hatch, tailgate, or cargo door that swings open with sufficient clearance for Kusa drawers and fridge slide (with your cooler/fridge mounted) to articulate open and closed without obstruction.

Measure Your Vehicle

If your cargo area meets these minimum dimensions, you’re good to go.

All measurements taken from the back of the cargo door while it’s closed.

A: 41.5” Width of opening at the threshold

B: 34” Length from inside of door/hatch

C: 13.5” Height measured vertically from the end of B

D: 41.5” Width between wheel wells/subwoofer

E: 34” Length to door measured from top of C

F: Measure from top of rear hatch opening to the floor, and subtract 11.5”. This is the remaining vertical headroom for your fridge/cooler. The Kusa fridge slide sits 11.5” from the cargo floor. Example: 36” of total vertical clearance at the rear hatch, minus 11.5”, leaves 24.5” of headroom for your fridge.

G: Less than 1” Vertical height difference between the door sill/threshold and the cargo floor. This lip must be less than 1” for the drawers to open and close. If G measures more than 1 inch you’ll need to mount your Kusa Kitchen on blocks/risers.

INSTALLATION

The Kusa Kitchen secures into your vehicle with ratchet straps or turnbuckles at the front and rear corners of the kitchen.

The cantilevered weight and balance of the kitchen while its drawers and table are extended is primarily supported by the cargo area anchor points closest to the front of your vehicle. It is paramount that these anchor points are functioning properly and positioned behind the back side of the Kusa Kitchen (the face nearest the front of vehicle).

Some customer’s configurations may require modification to vehicle or to the Kusa Kitchen to facilitate a secure mounting solution. The Kusa Kitchen is easily adaptable and easily modified by the customer to create securely anchored connections into a vehicle that doesn’t meet our prescribed cargo anchor point specifications. Such modifications are performed at the customer’s own risk. We do not offer assurances or guarantees in this regard.

Secure attachment mechanisms are absolutely necessary for safe and ergonomic use of the Kusa Camp Kitchen.
